This is Yakushi-ji, in Nara. Like many of the incredibly ancient national treasures there, it's sort of in the middle of some fields. Riding along a normal street, you don't expect to see these pagodas rising above some phone lines and trees; and it's even more incongruous when you know the temple was built (in this case) in the late 600s.
The buildings in this photo (main hall and west pagoda) are new, having been redone in the 1200s and 1700s. These Tale of Genji people (link below) have done a nice job summarizing various temples, with photos more attractive than mine.
